A Terrifying Day

     September  12  , 2011 , was terrifying day for me. It was 7:40 on a Friday evening in Samutsongkram. I was alone because my parents were our of town. Suddenly, I heard the thunder very loud, I feared very much. I did not know what to do, so I closed the door and the window. A few minutes later, the rain begins to fall, I tried the telephone, but the electricity was off. After that I  found a flashlight, but it did not battery. Shortly after, the electricity was on. Finally, at  about  9:00 P.M., the rain stopped. I went to bed and have a good dream.

      วันที่ 12 สิงหาคม 2011 ซึ่งเป็นวันที่น่ากลัวสำหรับฉัน  มันเกิดขึ้นเวลา 19.40 น. ในเย็นเย็นศุกร์ที่สมุทรสงคราม   ฉันอยู่บ้านคนเดียวเพราะครอบครัวของฉันออกไปต่างจังหวัด   ทันใดนั้นเอง ฉันได้ยินเสียงฟ้าร้องดังมาก ฉันกลัวมาก   ฉันไม่รู้จะทำอย่างไรดี ดังนั้นฉันจึงไปปิดประตูและหน้าต่าง   นาทีต่อมา ฝนก็เริ่มตก ฉันพยายามโทรศัพท์แต่ไฟฟ้าดับ หลังจากนั้น ฉันก็พบไฟฉายแต่มันก็ไม่มีถ่าย หลังจากนั้นอีกเล็กน้อย ไฟฟ้าก็ติด และสุดท้าย เวลา 21.00 น. ฝนก็หยุดตก ฉันไปยังเตียงนอนและหลับฝันดี.

what is an earthquake ?

     Earthquakes happen as large blocks of the Earth’s crust move suddenly past one another because of the force of plate tectonics. These blocks of the Earth’scrust meet at cracks called faults. Sometimes those pieces do not slide smoothly past one another. There can be friction along the fault – jagged edges that snag the blocks of rock. This makes it difficult for them to move past each other. Sometimes they get stuck together temporarily. When the pieces of rock overcome the snags, energy is released. The release of energy causes shaking at the ground surface.
